This error 0x8007045A means "ERROR DLL INIT FAILED", That is, a dll file failed when initializing.
I have seen this issue when a file is being used and it is interfering, or when a corrupted dll is crashing.
My suggestions are the following:
- Close all the open programs before going to Windows Update (if we can reboot Windows, it is a good option).
- Start, Run and type in (without the quotes): “sfc /scannow”. This will repair the corrupted files (we may need the XP CD).
