my Windows Update service was never able to startup automatically, so I had to register the wuaueng.dll everytime I wanted to start the WU service.

After surfing the web for a long long time, I found instructions on Microsoft's site (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916261) to re-install WUA. Instead of following all their instructions you can just go Start > run > &#xSy;stemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 &#xSy;stemRoot%\inf\au.inf Votos: +1

I have had this problem for the better part of a year. I did try the above mentioned steps. Several times it worked but whenever I reboot the computer, I get the message that updates is not turned on and I have to go through the steps all over again. Can someone please help me? Thanks! Votos: +0

Hi, i was following the instructions given above and everything seems to be going smoothly till i reach the "regsvr32.exe qmgr.dll" part. After keying in the command. An interface pops up displaying "qmgr.dll was loaded but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This ile cannot be registered. What should i do now?
