This 0x80245003 error means "WU E REDIRECTOR ID SMALLER". That is the redirector ID of "wuredir.cab" file is smaller than "wuredir.cab" in the cache.

Start > Run and type in net stop wuauserv

Locate in the hard disk the following folders and delete them::

WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\SelfUpdate
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\WebSetup
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\WuRedir
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\AuthCabs
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Start > Run and type in net start wuauserv

Reboot Windows and login as administrator. Then go to Windows Update.
