This error 0x8007007E means "ERROR MOD NOT FOUND". That is, a module needed has not been found.
Start > Run and type in this lines. Hit ENTER key after each one:
net stop wuauserv
regsvr32 Inseng.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Ole32.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Mssip32.dll
net start wuauserv
Reboot Windows and go to Windows Update.
