Un archivo con extensión jpe es un archivo de imagen digamos que similar al jpeg, y son usados por algunos programas y hardware. El nombre de la extensión jpe es una variación de la extensión jpeg. Un archivo jpe se abre con el Visor de imágenes y fax de Windows al hacer doble click sobre él, y al hacer click derecho y elegir Editar se edita con Paint.

Nota: en el reg descargable las siguientes claves tienen los valores indicados que hacen referencia específica a C:. Si no tuviéramos instalado XP en C, tendríamos que cambiar la letra de la unidad:
