In WinXP
Prof, by means of Gpedit tool, it is enough to navigate to "User
configuration/Administrative templates/Desktop/Hide and disable all items
on the desktop" and enable this policy.
Via Windows
registry we have to navigate to the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
In the
right pane, create a new "DWORD" value, (edition, new), and name it
"NoDesktop". Setting it to 1 we will be able to hide the icons, and
to "0" or removing the value we will see them.
You will find a script in our downloads section, to
hide the icons with a single click. Remember to restart session for the changes
to take place.
