This error 0x80070020 means STIERR_SHARING_VIOLATION The process cannot access
the file because it is being used by another process
WORKAROUND
Switching off anti-virus scanner while updating Disable all anti-virus, anti-spyware product before attempting Windows Update.
More information:
Error message when you try to download an update from Windows Update or from Microsoft Update in Windows XP or Windows Vista: "0x80070020 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"
Also, on a Windows XP SP2 based computer, This issue can due to a bug in the Windows Installer service that can affect performance during software updates, We have to install the update with the Backgroup Intelligence Transfer Service and Automatic Updates stopped (Start > Run > and type Service.msc). This update is included in the Service Pack 3. So We recommend install this SP if you don't have it. Also can be usefful Process Explorer.to check the proccess that is interfering.
